Welcome to the Travel Immunization Clinic. Dr. Ray Cooke operates this clinic in assistance with Provincial Department of Health. The purpose of the clinic is to provide you, the traveller, with a central location to obtain information, required, recommended or routine immunizations and prescriptions.
Travel to international destinations has increased dramatically in the
past decade. travellers are going to new and exotic locations. Along with
this exciting travel comes an increased risk of preventable illness. He
or she now has to be concerned about Hepatitis A from food handlers, Malaria
on Safaris, Dengue Fever in the local market and many other illnesses.
Many of the diseases that occur in foreign countries are not a problem
in Canada. Malaria as yet cannot be immunized against, but with careful
preventative measures and prophylactic medications, the risks are reduced. |
