When should you contact the Clinic?

If your travels will be short in duration, we suggest you contact us at least a month in advance. When your trip will be extended, whether for business or pleasure, you should contact us six months in advance. A few of the vaccines require a series of shots. Some vaccines can be given close to your date of departure with great protection. For your convenience, it is easier to complete your schedule before you leave. It is possible to obtain the vaccinations in most foreign countries if you cannot finish the course of vaccines here.

Recommendations for vaccines can differ depending on you destination and reason for trip. Vacation – Business – Expedition – Exploration (i.e. Safari, Scuba Diving, Mountain Climbing, Cruise) – Specialized Trips (i.e. Exchange Students, Missionaries).

Your initial visit with us will take approximately one hour. During this time we gather a medical history, including allergies, chronic illness, regular medications etc. Discussion of your planned travel itinerary, recommendations for vaccines and health risks for your destination will follow. The Physician will discuss any questions you might have, review the vaccinations recommended and write out any necessary prescriptions. The administration of vaccines is last. It is possible you will need to return for follow up visits, depending on the immunizations given.

There is a one-time consultation fee per person or per family. Medicare does not cover the services provided in this office but may be covered by your private insurance. Thank you in advance for allowing us to assist you prepare for your travel.
